A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred Eligibility or possession of state licensure as an SLP Prior experience in schools or pediatric therapy is a plus Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Open to considering candidates seeking CF placements, pending district approval

Role Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and provide direct therapy for students with speech, language, voice, or fluency disorders Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and staff Maintain thorough, accurate records of student progress and communicate findings to families and interdisciplinary team members Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary consultations, and professional development activities Serve as a resource on communication disorders for teachers, parents, and other staff
