A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description
Miami Valley Hospital Speech Pathologist (PRN)
• Acute Care
• PRN (days) | 2 Weekend Days, per month, required Join the team at Miami Valley Hospital, a recognized Level One Trauma Center, where you'll have the opportunity to provide specialized care in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. The Speech Pathologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, depending on the service area.
The therapist meets productivity standards and satisfactorily completes and maintains all required documentation. The Speech Pathologist maintains a "Patient First" orientation and meets Miami Valley Hospital customer service standards. Will serve as a flexible member of both disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, including assisting others as needed and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department.
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech Pathology Program.
Licensure:
Must possess a valid license to practice Speech Pathology issued by the State of Ohio.
Certification:
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required within 30 days of hire
• Certificate Of Clinical Competencies (CCC-SLP) required
