A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Were currently seeking a dedicated Pediatric Speech Pathologist to join our Speech & Audiology Department at our Galion location.

Position OverviewPediatric Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) are responsible for providing appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, plan of care, and therapeutic interventions in the areas of speech and language, voice, fluency, social communication, and feeding/swallowing. The SLP will work directly with patients, their families, and collaborate with healthcare providers and other professionals in providing education, counseling, and facilitation of additional care/intervention as needed. Additionally, pediatric SLPs provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and or language comprehension disorders.
QualificationsRequired:
Masters degree from an approved school of speech/language pathology.

Current State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech Pathologist).BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge of principals and practice of speech pathology.
Preferred:
Previous experience working as a Speech Pathologist. Certificate of competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Why Join the Avita Health System Team?
