A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Valid and current SLP license Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required Experience in educational or pediatric settings preferred Skilled in administering and interpreting a variety of speech/language assessments Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Adaptable, compassionate, and dedicated to student development

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Provide targeted therapy individually or in small groups, addressing articulation, language, fluency, and social communication Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to integrate speech/language strategies into classroom activities Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services, progress, and communication with stakeholders Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute expertise to support student success Stay current with best practices and maintain professional licensure
