Part Time - approximately 2 days/weekDistrict SUMMARY :
Under general supervision, provides remedial activities for students who exhibit speech and language disorders. Reports to the Director of Special Education.DUTIES/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and utilizes Individualized Educational Plans to provide instruction to students. Provides speech and language experiences and carry-over activities within the classroom. Collaborates, plans, develops, and provides language enriched lessons based upon classroom teacher input. Confers with classroom teacher(s) and psychologist regarding referred students. Participates as a member of the multi-factored evaluation team. Distributes forms to teachers that are necessary for the referral process. Formulates, schedules and/or participates in an IEP conference with parents, teachers and administrators and assists in developing goals and objectives. Sends permission to evaluate forms to parents regarding possible evaluations Prepares copies of all necessary due process forms for the county office, central office, school files, teacher files and parent files. Organizes and maintains confidential files on each student. Attends school wide conferences with parents and conducts phone conferences with parents. Performs hearing screenings and/or evaluations for all referred students. Provides oral peripheral evaluations for all referred students. Makes referrals to medical doctors when necessary for voice, hearing, etc. Prepares and sends home progress reports for each grading period. Conducts hearing, speech, and language screenings per supervisor direction. Prepares beginning and year end reports for supervisor. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Maintains required license(s) and/or certificates. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS
: 1. Valid Ohio School Speech Language Pathologist certificate/license with appropriate endorsements. 2. Valid Ohio Driver License 3. Must pass criminal background check.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
