Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Embark on an enriching contract opportunity supporting young learners aged 3-5 as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist. This role is perfectly suited for individuals passionate about fostering communication skills in early childhood and making a meaningful impact in educational settings. The position spans from August 21, 2026, through June 9, 2027, for a total of 190 contract days, serving students within the Salem area, as well as Polk and Yamhill counties. Ideal candidates will bring a blend of expertise, patience, and creativity, helping children achieve critical developmental milestones.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Current SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC); Clinical Fellows (CFY) also welcome Experience with school-based caseloads, especially in early childhood or pediatric populations Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and techniques is a plus Background working with healthcare or school-based
SLP/SLPA
services Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Compassionate, organized, and adaptable to varied learning and therapeutic environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and direct speech/language therapy to children ages 3-5 Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' strengths and needs Collaborate with educators, families, and SLPAs to support classroom integration Conduct sessions in-person and/or via teletherapy, as needed Document progress and maintain accurate records according to district and professional standards This contract role offers a wonderful chance to work with a vibrant childhood population over the academic year in the supportive setting of area schools.
