Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children. Develop individualized plans of care tailored to each patient's needs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement effective therapy strategies. Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Educate family members or caregivers on how to support the patient's communication and swallowing skills at home. Required Skills Strong understanding of speech-language pathology practices and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to design and implement effective therapy strategies. Competence in handling sensitive situations with privacy and professionalism.
