Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic school-based team as a Speech-Language Pathologist and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders, fostering improved speech, language, and social skills. Your expertise will support educational efforts and promote communication development in educational settings. Our district is located on the beautiful Oregon coast. We have a tight-knit school community where you can build relationships with your clients and make a positive difference in their lives. Essential Job Functions Assessment and evaluation of students for special education eligibility and intervention strategies. Preparation and presentation of comprehensive evaluation reports. Collaboration with parents, school staff and outside consultants on speech, language, and pragmatic interventions. Provide speech, language, and pragmatic services as outlined in IEPs. Provide training, regular observation, and feedback regarding communication instruction delivery. Facilitate meetings, problem solve, and manage caseloads efficiently. Maintain thorough ongoing records/documentation for individual students receiving therapy or other school provided speech services and prepare pertinent reports. Develop and maintain systems to record, monitor, and interpret student progress. Teach alternative communication modes and use assistive technology communication strategies/devices used with students who have significant mental and physical disabilities. Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as necessary. Knowledge of state and federal special education law and regulations sufficient to ensure legal compliance. Qualifications Master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent Valid Oregon Board of Examiners Speech-Language Pathology certification or TSPC license with Speech Impaired Endorsement Proficient in task prioritization, time management, resource allocation, and organization with strong attention to detail Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents Strong written/oral communication, technological competence, and ability to produce concise professional documents Knowledge of and adherence to Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance of Oregon Educators Familiarity with speech therapy techniques specific to pediatric populations and school environments Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with patients' families This role is ideal for passionate professionals eager to foster meaningful communication improvements while advancing their expertise in pediatric speech therapy. Pay:
$76,000.00 - $115,846.00 per year
