A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist For over 60 years, St. Anne Home, a ministry of the Felician Sisters of North America, has been committed to offering superior health care services to the senior members of our community. We are seeking to fill the position of Speech Language Pathologist - PRN. $55 per hour.
Speech Language Pathologist Qualifications:
A valid, unrestricted PA SLP license. Valid PA driver's license. Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
Speech/Language Pathologist Job Summary:
Evaluate all residents with speech/language/swallowing problems. Submit written report of the results of the evaluation. Provide speech/language/swallowing therapy. Maintain statistical record of the residents' attendance at the therapy sessions. Provide teaching and clinical supervision to students of peech/language/pathology. Provide in-service training to nursing staff members, families and staff. Attend staff conferences on resident care. Attend all department meetings, in-services, as requested family conferences.
