A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Kindred Treatment Center is hiring a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to build and deliver outpatient speech and language services in our Hampstead & Manchester, Maryland offices. Kindred is an outpatient mental health center serving children,adolescents, and adults. We are adding speech-language pathology so clients can get communication, language, and related services in the same place they already receive therapy. This role is a great opportunity for someone to build up these services: evaluations, treatment, documentation, and coordination with our clinical team Responsibilities Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for patients across various age groups, including children in early intervention programs and elderly patients with communication impairments Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals Deliver engaging sessions via in-person or telehealth platform, utilizing evidence-based techniques to promote language development and speech clarity Collaborate effectively with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive treatment approaches and optimal patient outcomes Document patient progress accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR), maintaining detailed records of assessments, therapy sessions, and treatment modifications Educate families on strategies to support communication development at home and in daily life settings Experience Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with speech impairments across diverse disabilities and medical conditions Experience implementing speech therapy techniques for patients with language delays or disorders in clinical or educational environments Familiarity with telehealth therapy delivery methods and experience providing remote services is advantageous Knowledge of comprehensive speech and language evaluations, patient assessment procedures, and multidisciplinary collaboration in speech-language pathology is essential Qualifications Active Maryland Speech-Language Pathologist license Master's degree (or higher) in speech-language pathology Ability to work with children and/or adults in an outpatient behavioral health setting Strong documentation and time-management skills Authorized to work in the United States Join us in making a difference by empowering individuals through effective communication!
