Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a contract opportunity supporting students across the PK-8 spectrum, with an emphasis on early learners, for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on young lives in a school setting near the beautiful coastline of Rhode Island. The assignment spans from September 8 to June 18, just two days per week—allowing you to balance career and personal commitments seamlessly.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) Active license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in educational settings Demonstrated success working in PK-8 environments, with a special focus on preschool-aged children Proficiency with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, including assessments and implementation Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families Collaborative and adaptive approach within multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services, tailored primarily to preschool students Evaluate, write, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with classroom and special education staff Utilize AAC devices to support communication needs, providing training to staff and families as needed Conduct thorough speech and language assessments to guide targeted intervention Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with school and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing team support for student growth This role is ideal for an SLP who thrives in a school-based environment and enjoys impacting the littlest learners—especially those who benefit from AAC or require specialized ASD supports.
