Job Description

Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting a highly diverse student population near Cranston, RI. This contract opportunity offers valuable experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) during the 2026-2027 school year, with the possibility to begin as soon as possible and extending through mid-June 2027. You'll collaborate with educators and families to empower PK-12 learners in a district where language diversity is at the forefrontover half of students are from multi-lingual households.
Key Qualifications:
Eligible for or currently hold a
RIDE PK-12 SLP
certification Completion of SLP-CCC and strong familiarity with school-based practices Previous experience delivering direct therapy and conducting student assessments Competence with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology Effective communication skills with parents, teachers, and diverse student cultures
Responsibilities:
Provide direct, evidence-based speech and language therapy to a caseload averaging 60 students (with potential variance depending on assignment) Complete and document assessments to determine student needs Set up, manage, and instruct on the use of AAC and assistive technology devices Maintain accurate paperwork, progress notes, and compliance with IEP requirements Advise parents on at-home strategies and work closely with teaching staff to support student success Flexibility to work in standard PK-12, Early Childhood/Preschool, or Bilingual tracks based on experience and interest This is a rewarding chance to shape students communication skills while collaborating with mission-driven professionals in an urban, culturally rich setting.
