Position Summary
Tiverton Public Schools is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to student receiving homebound medical instruction. The successful candidate will support student with communication needs through individualized, evidence-based interventions designed to promote progress toward IEP goals and continued access to educational programming.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to student receiving homebound instruction.
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and reassessments as required.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Collaborate with family, educators, related service providers, and medical professionals to support student success.
- Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation as applicable.
- Participate in IEP Team meetings and provide recommendations regarding speech-language needs and services.
- Consult with family and educational staff regarding communication strategies and supports.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Rhode Island Department of Education regulations, and district procedures.
Qualifications - Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Current Rhode Island licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with children with complex disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education regulations, evaluation procedures, and IEP development.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
