Speech-Language Pathologist - Acute Care & Outpatient Split Full-Time | Cheraw, SC | $10K Sign-On Bonus | Clinical Variety The Opportunity A nonprofit hospital system in Cheraw, SC is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to split time between Acute Care and Outpatient settings. This role offers exceptional clinical variety, hospital-based stability, and the chance to build a well-rounded skillset across multiple patient populations.
What Makes This Role Stand Out Clinical Variety Across Settings:
Split between Acute Care and Outpatient for diverse clinical exposure
Acute:
ICU, stroke, post-surgical, TBI, and medically complex patients
Outpatient:
General hospital-based clinic with ortho, neuro, vestibular, balance, stroke, MS, and chronic conditions Treat patients across the lifespan and diagnosis spectrum Build versatility while deepening expertise in both settings
Quality-Focused Patient Care:
Acute:
~30-minute sessions
Outpatient:
45-60 minute sessions, 1:1 care (double-booking only when absolutely necessary due to staffing) Productivity expectations are reasonable—focus is on seeing scheduled patients, not hitting rigid quotas
Collaborative Team Environment:
Work alongside PTs, OTs, and dedicated support staff Part of a hospital-based therapy department with strong peer collaboration Not isolated—supportive culture with experienced clinicians
Schedule & Benefits Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:15 PM (most therapists out by 5:30 PM) Documentation time built into the schedule No weekend rotation currently
Comprehensive Benefits:
20 days PTO (6.15 hours per pay period for 40-hour week) Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Retirement benefits PSLF-eligible (nonprofit hospital system)
Compensation & Incentives Base Salary:
Starting at $36.58/hour (~$76,086/year for new grads), based on experience 10 years experience: ~$49.19/hour (~$102,315/year) 20 years experience: ~$52.55/hour (~$109,304/year)
Sign-On Bonus:
$10,000 sign-on bonus (2-year commitment) OR $10,000 student loan repayment (2-year commitment) Cannot receive both —choose one Paid half in first year, half in second year (pro-rated payback if commitment not met) Paid as separate check from regular paycheck
Relocation Assistance:
$7,500 relocation assistance (1-year commitment) Reimbursed with receipts Must relocate within 50 miles of work location PRN Rate (if applicable): $60/hour for PRN shifts
The Facility Acute Care:
Hospital-based acute care with ICU, stroke, post-surgical, and medically complex patients Modern facility with strong clinical standards Currently undergoing major renovation (breaking ground early 2026)—all-new Med Surg and ICU units over 2-3 year build
Outpatient:
