Job Summary and Qualifications The Speech Language Pathologist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Language Pathologist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Language Pathologist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues. What you will do in this role: Support children with complex medical needs Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including OTs, physicians, and nurses. Conduct feeding/swallowing assessments and video-fluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS). Experience with managing short term and long term feeding tubes. Provide speech-language evaluations and therapy for pediatric inpatients. Document patient progress and outcomes using EMR systems. Assist with discharge planning. Educate families and caregivers on therapy plans and progress. Completes video flouroscopic swallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner Performs evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately and communicates results timely to all appropriate members of the healthcare team What qualifications you will need: NICU/Pediatric inpatient feeding/swallowing experience - required Experience in a children's hospital setting - required ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Demonstrated experience with each of the required areas of expertise in section I Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with Patient, Staff, Physicians, Community Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology Current SLP license in state of Tennessee BLS certification within 30 days of employment TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 740+ bed comprehensive facility.
