Duties Assess patients' speech, language, voice, and swallowing functions through comprehensive evaluations. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Utilize evidence-based techniques rooted in physiology knowledge and medical terminology to facilitate progress. Educate patients and their families on communication strategies, exercises, and adaptive techniques for ongoing improvement. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to optimize outcomes. Document all assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately in accordance with healthcare standards. Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Skills Strong proficiency in speech therapy techniques and intervention strategies. In-depth understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech and swallowing disorders. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and motivate patients of all ages. Ability to analyze complex physiological data and translate it into practical therapy plans. Compassionate demeanor with a passion for helping others regain confidence in their communication abilities. Knowledge of current best practices in speech-language pathology and ongoing professional development.
