Duties Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify communication impairments in patients of various age groups. Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Deliver engaging therapy sessions via in-person or telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve speech, language, voice, fluency, and cognitive-communication skills. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, occupational therapists, educators, and families—to coordinate patient care strategies. Educate and involve parents or caregivers in therapy processes to reinforce progress at home and support ongoing development. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology, including early intervention strategies and working with individuals with disabilities or speech impairments. Skills Extensive experience working with pediatric populations, including early intervention programs and school-based settings. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques for children and adults with diverse communication needs. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments using standardized tools. Ability to develop clear, effective speech-language therapy plans aligned with patient goals. Excellent collaboration skills for working with families, educators, medical teams, and other professionals. Familiarity with telehealth therapy platforms and delivering remote services effectively. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech production and swallowing functions. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or speech impairments across various settings including hospitals, clinics, or schools. Understanding of medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology practice. Ability to adapt therapy approaches based on patient age, diagnosis, and individual needs while maintaining a positive and motivating environment.
