Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team on a contracted basis. This flexible, part-time position is an excellent fit for a newly licensed therapist looking to gain rewarding experience or a retired professional wanting to stay active in the field. In this role, you will provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), supporting their communication needs and promoting positive outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments for clients with IDD. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. Provide direct, in-person therapy services during scheduled on-site hours. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and program staff to support client progress. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress notes, and billing in compliance with Texas TDLR standards.
Qualifications & Educational Background:
Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current, active, and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) (Required for billing and provider enrollment). Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; clinical experience with the IDD population is a strong plus. Open to all experience levels (excellent opportunity for new graduates or retired therapists). Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently on-site.
Texas State & Contractor Compliance Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check and registry checks (Texas Health and Safety Code requirements for serving individuals with IDD). Must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 prior to starting services. Must maintain active Professional Liability/Malpractice Insurance. Must acknowledge status as an Independent Contractor (not an employee) responsible for self-employment tax withholding.
