Next Step Transition Center is a Day Habilitation, Program Provider, and Group Home for individuals with disabilities in Deer Park. As a member of our team, you would work with young adults with physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities. The job position is one of an independent contractor, so you can make your own schedule. The position will require a one-time assessment ranging from 5 - 20 clients and follow-ups weekly or bi-weekly depending on the young adult's needs. This is a full-time position, with client load open for discussion. Travel is a requirement for this position.

Speech Therapist Job Responsibilities:

Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care. Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks. Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies. Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress. Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students. Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.

Speech Therapist Requierments:

a speech-language pathologist licensed in accordance with Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 401
