A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Take your expertise in speech-language pathology to a supportive school environment in the Barre, VT area with two unique contract opportunities—one covering a maternity leave and another as a part-time assignment. Consult with students from kindergarten through twelfth grade and be part of a collaborative team helping learners reach their full potential. Available roles include a maternity leave assignment (August 19, 2026 - October 31, 2026) and a part-time contract (August 19, 2026 - July 14, 2027). Both opportunities provide guaranteed hours and compensation for both direct and indirect services, ensuring your contributions are recognized and valued.

Qualifications:

Valid licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; strong Clinical Fellow (CFY) candidates considered Experience in a school setting working with K-12 students Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to tailor plans for diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Deliver direct and indirect therapy services to a K-12 caseload Document progress and collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary team members No additional district duties (no bus or parent pickup assignments)
