A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join a student-centered, therapeutic school serving individuals aged 5-22 and adults with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include consulting on IEPs, guiding programming in social communication, self-advocacy, reading, and writing, and managing a small caseload. The role involves developing speech, language, and literacy goals, supervising staff, and fostering collaborative relationships. Qualifications include a Master's in communication sciences & disorders, ASHA certification, and preferably a Vermont Speech Pathologist license. Experience with students with significant challenges is required. Flexibility in hours and a clinical fellowship year may be available.
