A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students as a Speech Language Pathologist supporting learners in a vibrant school community.

Two unique opportunities are available:

a maternity leave position from August 19, 2026, to October 31, 2026, and a part-time assignment running from August 19, 2026, to July 14, 2027. Both roles offer the chance to deliver impactful services in an engaging educational environment.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility State licensure (or eligibility) for Vermont Strong knowledge of best practices for supporting K-12 populations Passion for helping students achieve communication goals and succeed academically

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and indirect speech-language pathology services to K-12 students Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student growth Complete evaluations, maintain documentation, and participate in meetings as required Focus solely on contracted responsibilities—no bus duty, parent pickup, or other extra-district tasks Experience a healthy work-life balance with guaranteed hours and compensation for both direct and indirect services.
