A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting students' communication needs as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2024-2027 school years. This opportunity offers a vibrant and collaborative environment, where you'll contribute to the growth and success of children and adolescents. Multiple openings are available, including two full-time positions (elementary level) and one part-time (.8 FTE) position (high school level). All roles are in-person, fostering rich interactions within school communities. What you'll need to bring: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Valid WA SLP License and ESA certification Completion of fingerprinting through OSPI Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Previous school-based SLP experience preferred Ability to work independently and as part of an educational team Strong organizational and communication skills Key responsibilities: Deliver direct therapy and assessment services to students with a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Maintain compliance with state and federal requirements, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation Consult and partner with teachers, families, and support staff to promote generalization of skills Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed for optimal outcomes Participate in eligibility determination meetings, parent conferences, and staff meetings This position enables you to truly impact students' lives, working on a school-year schedule in an engaging educational setting.
