$100,000-$108,000 per year Position Overview Alta Vista is seeking a compassionate, organized, and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist to provide pediatric and school-based services at our Pottery Avenue location in Port Orchard. The SLP will evaluate and treat children and adolescents with speech, language, social-communication, and related developmental needs. The position works closely with special education teachers, behavioral health professionals, behavior analysts, occupational therapists, support staff, families, school districts, and other community providers. The ideal candidate is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, flexible, and passionate about helping students strengthen their communication, independence, and meaningful participation across school, home, and community environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, screenings, observations, and reassessments. Assess receptive and expressive language, articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, social communication, and functional communication. Evaluate students for augmentative and alternative communication supports when appropriate. Develop individualized, measurable, and functional treatment goals. Provide direct speech-language therapy in individual and small-group settings. Develop and implement services consistent with Individualized Education Programs, treatment plans, and other applicable service plans. Prepare present levels, annual goals, progress reports, evaluation summaries, and service recommendations. Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and care-coordination meetings. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to incorporate communication strategies into classroom activities and daily routines. Provide consultation, training, and practical strategies to staff members and caregivers. Support students who use AAC systems and train relevant team members in consistent implementation. Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and guide treatment decisions. Complete service notes, billing documentation, progress reports, evaluations, and other required records accurately and within established timelines. Maintain an organized caseload and track evaluation, IEP, progress-report, and service-delivery deadlines. Communicate promptly with families, supervisors, and team members regarding progress, concerns, safety issues, and barriers to treatment. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, professional ethics, agency policies, and applicable state and federal requirements. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, program planning, and quality-improvement activities. Perform other duties related to the position as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program. Current Washington State Department of Health Speech-Language Pathologist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before beginning independent clinical work. Current Washington educational staff associate certification, or eligibility to obtain the appropriate credential, when required for assigned school-based services. Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and fingerprint clearances. Strong clinical documentation, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology through ASHA. Experience providing pediatric or school-based speech-language services. Experience developing and implementing IEPs. Experience working with children or adolescents with autism, ADHD, intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral needs, or trauma histories. Knowledge of AAC assessment and implementation. Experience addressing social communication, functional communication, language development, and speech-sound disorders. Experience collaborating with special education, behavioral-health, and applied-behavior-analysis teams. Clinical fellowship candidates may be considered when appropriate supervision is available. The anticipated schedule is 40 hours per week and will include direct services, evaluations, documentation, team consultation, meetings, and other administrative responsibilities. Compensation and Benefits Salary of $8,500-$9,000 per month. Annual compensation of $102,000-$108,000. Starting salary is based on relevant education, licensure, certification, pediatric or school-based experience, specialized training, and qualifications. Paid time off accrued at a rate of three hours for every 40 hours worked. Employer-sponsored benefits are available to eligible employees after 90 days. Physical Requirements The SLP must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
