A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.
Job Summary Therapy Time for K.I.D.S. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive evaluations and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents (ages 0-19) with communication, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, voice, and fluency disorders. Duties Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed speech and language evaluations for children and adolescents with various disorders, including speech, language, voice, fluency, social communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and families. Work with patients using specialized techniques, such as PROMPT, Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, and treatment for tethered oral tissues. Collaborate with other speech-language pathologists, clinical staff, and family members to develop and update individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and SOAP notes. Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities. Supervise and provide guidance to clinical fellows, graduate students, and other support staff. Provide family education and counseling, including strategies for supporting therapy goals at home. Requirements Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech therapy. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and early intervention strategies. Familiarity with anatomy and physiology related to speech production. Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred, particularly in a clinical setting. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A genuine passion for improving patient outcomes through effective therapy practices. Ability to work with a variety of ages and disorders in a fast-paced, clinical setting. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
