Applicants with strong skill and experience in the area of augmentative alternative communication preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must possess or have the ability to obtain Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Speech/Language Pathology License (#1820). Applicants with a CCC credential are preferred, but not required. Experience working within a co-plan/co-serve team of general education and special education teachers to meet the needs of all students. Ability to work in an inclusive, collaborative environment. Experience evaluating, planning, and writing College and Career Ready Individual Education Plans (CCR-IEPs) based on disability-related needs. Knowledge and experience providing services within the student's natural environment. Strong communication skills for collaboration with families and staff. Expertise in working with a variety of low and high tech. assistive/augmentative communication devices/tools Knowledge in addressing a wide range of communication and speech disorders across grades
PK-3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess student's communication skills (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determine program Eligibility and develop treatment. Provide speech and language therapy to students for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success. Coordinate meetings and processes for eligible students, present evaluation results, and develop Individual Education Plans Develop plans, implement and evaluate effectiveness using progress monitoring tools in compliance with regulatory requirements. Teach eligible students in the use of appropriate communication and/or communication technologies. Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of gathering information in order to learn and grow as a clinician.
