Job Description
Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract This position involves assessing and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders to improve patients' communication abilities and ensure safe swallowing. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough evaluations and initiate treatment plans for speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Communicate with insurance providers to verify benefits and coverage. Prepare materials and equipment for therapy sessions. Educate healthcare staff—including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service personnel—on therapy results and recommendations. Develop and deliver in-service training and educational programs for hospital staff. Collaborate with various healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care. Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas. Manage patient communications such as reminder calls. Assist patients and families with navigating hospital services. Perform additional duties as assigned.Desired Qualifications:
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with experience in hospital or healthcare settings. Strong assessment and treatment skills in speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented with efficient documentation practices.
