A Speech Language Pathology Assistant assists licensed speech language pathologists in treating people with speech and language or other communication disorders or swallowing disorders. Assists with screening and helps patients with therapy activities. Works with adults or children and helps to treat a variety of speech disorders or communication problems created by stroke or injury.

Job Description

Conducts speech-language screenings of students. Implements and follows documented Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Schedules students for services based on the IEP. Documents student progress through daily logs and quarterly progress reports. Assists staff during standardized assessment. Participates in parent conferences/IEP meetings under the direction of the Speech/Language Pathologist. Prepares materials for teachers and students. Maintains accurate student records, and keeps information secure and confidential. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Disorders, or Communication Sciences OR any equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Current SLPA license from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
