Job Description
Compensation:
$50,000-$69,000 annually | Sign-on bonus for eligible candidates Position Overview The Speech Language Pathology Assistant will provide services to students with speech, language, and swallowing disorders within an educational setting. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA will implement treatment plans designed to help students reach their maximum educational and functional potential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with identification, eligibility, and placement of students with speech and language impairments Support the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Implement IEP goals and objectives through direct therapy services (Preschool-12th grade) Develop therapy schedules in coordination with school staff Support evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, including devices for deaf and hard-of-hearing students Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, manifestation determination meetings, FBA/BIP meetings, and other required staff meetings Collaborate with educators, related service providers, administrators, and parents Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising SLP or administrator Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field Registered as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of speech and language disorders and treatment techniques Familiarity with assistive technology and AAC devices Ability to assess student progress and adapt interventions accordingly Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards Benefits Competitive salary paid year-round Sign-on bonus for eligible candidates Educational stipend and graduate school support Medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) Paid time off and sick leave Housing, transportation, and per diem stipends (where applicable) Relocation assistance Additional voluntary benefits Qualified candidates who meet California licensure requirements and are interested in a school-based role for the 2026/2027 school year are encouraged to apply.
