Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This travel position offers a rewarding opportunity to support speech-language pathologists (SLPs) within school settings across Santa Clarita, CA. Service dates run from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a commitment of 30 hours per week. Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) play a vital role by assisting SLPs in managing their caseloads, which typically include around 45 students. While SLPAs do not carry their own caseloads, they provide essential support through various therapeutic and administrative tasks. Flexibility is crucial, as school site assignments may change throughout the school year based on district needs.
Two position options include:
Position 1: Valencia High School (Monday through Wednesday) and the ATP Program at Castaic High School (Thursday and Friday). Position 2: To Be Determined, with flexibility for future assignment.
Key Qualifications:
Experience working as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in school settings Ability to support SLPs with diverse student populations Flexibility to adapt to site changes and varying schedules Effective communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Assist SLPs with therapy sessions, data collection, and preparation of materials Support compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members as needed Maintain accurate records to track student progress and therapy outcomes This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in dynamic educational environments while making a meaningful impact on students communication skills.
