Qualifications Education:
  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Training or coursework in Communicative Disorders, speech therapy, child growth and development, special education, instructional technology, or a closely related field, preferred. Bilingual also preferred.
  • Registration with the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant is required within six (6) months of appointment.
Experience:
  • Three years of comparable work experience working with children of various age levels requiring specialized learning environment.
  • Field work experience (paid or voluntary), which involves learning the job responsibilities and workplace behaviors of the Assistant to the Speech and Language Pathologist.
Clinical or school-based experience working with the pediatric population is preferable. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. In addition to submitting an application, qualified candidates should upload:
  • Copy of SLPA certification Copy of Transcript Letter of Introduction (or letter of interest) Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three (3) letters written within last three (3) years) Resume Requirements /
