Broad Brook Elem The East Windsor Public Schools, with strong support from the East Windsor Board of Education, is led by an ambitious and entrepreneurial superintendent who has built a dynamic leadership team invested in seeing the community's public schools help every child find their pathway to success in school and in life. East Windsor Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified full-time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant at the elementary level (PK-4).Primary responsibilities include:
providing IEP services, IEP progress reporting, and presenting at PPT meetings. The position is located at Broad Brook Elementary School and is part of a well-staffed related services and special education department. The ideal candidate will be able to work under the supervision of two Speech Pathologists, meet mandated timelines and work collaboratively within a team to support student success.Qualifications:
BA in Communications Disorders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of child psychology principles, assessments, methods, behavior modification, etc., and current developments in child psychology. Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.Work Environment:
Often work indoors, moving between classrooms and other school areas May work outdoors during physical education and recess. May be exposed to noise levels that are distracting May be exposed to hitting, kicking, biting, and pushing by students in addition to objects thrown by students Work near others, often within a few feet Work related tasks may be subject to deadlines and time constraintsPhysical Demands:
• Must possess the ability to stand, sit, and walk unassisted and provide movement assistance to students as needed Must possess the ability to lower self to a seated position on floors, and to move from a seated position on floor to standing position unassisted Must possess normal visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, and depth perception •The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
