Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pathology Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support pathologists in the preparation and examination of tissue samples, ensuring accurate diagnoses and contributing to patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in anatomy and physiology, as well as experience working with students in educational settings. Your expertise will play a vital role in the pathology department, enhancing our commitment to quality healthcare. Responsibilities Assist pathologists with the dissection and examination of surgical specimens. Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination and ensure proper labeling. Maintain accurate records of specimens and assist in data entry for pathology reports. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely processing of samples. Participate in educational activities, providing support to students and staff regarding pathology procedures. Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating findings and observations. Support early intervention strategies for pediatric patients requiring pathology services. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding complex medical conditions. Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and experience working with students is a plus. Background in acute care settings or pediatrics enhances the ability to address specific patient needs. Proficiency in medical terminology to facilitate clear communication within the healthcare team. Experience in speech therapy or related fields can be beneficial when working with diverse patient populations. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
