Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to a diverse population, including children and adolescents. Your enthusiasm for working with children and your understanding of pediatric development will help foster meaningful progress in communication skills. Responsibilities Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, including those with speech, language, or swallowing disorders Support therapy sessions with children and students across different age groups, ensuring engaging and effective interventions Help collect data on patient progress and document therapy activities accurately in accordance with clinical protocols Prepare therapy materials and assist in setting up equipment for sessions to ensure smooth operations Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and healthcare providers, to support comprehensive care plans such as Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and early intervention strategies Monitor patients during therapy sessions under supervision, ensuring safety and comfort at all times Participate in ongoing training related to pediatrics, physiology, medical terminology, anatomy, and other relevant areas to enhance your professional skills Qualifications Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly desirable Knowledge of pediatrics, speech therapy techniques, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is preferred Experience in acute care or school environments will be considered an asset Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with children and their families Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions Enthusiastic about supporting early intervention efforts and working within multidisciplinary teams Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (or equivalent) required where applicable Join us in making a difference by helping individuals improve their communication abilities!
