Owner / Speech-Language Pathologist Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) provides treatment, caregiver education, and clinical documentation for pediatric clients in clinic, homes, daycares, community locations, and other non-company managed sites. This position implements individualized plans of care and collaborates with families and other providers to support functional communication outcomes in natural environments. Essential Functions Provide direct speech-language pathology treatment to pediatric clients in clinic, in homes, daycares, community settings, and other approved service locations. Educate and collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals regarding treatment goals, home strategies, and client progress. Coordinate care with physicians, service coordinators, schools, daycares, and interdisciplinary team members, as appropriate. Documents treatment notes, progress updates, and other required records accurately and within established timelines. Maintain timely documentation, sound clinical judgment, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable clinical, ethical, regulatory, payer, and company standards. Maintain licensure, required credentials, and ongoing competency in accordance with state law, company policy, and professional standards. Deliver services through an itinerant model across clinic, homes, daycares, community locations, and other non-company managed sites. Maintain reliable attendance, manage schedule expectations based on business and caseload needs, and travel locally between service locations using reliable personal transportation. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid North Carolina licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Associates degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution. Successful completion of background screening and any other credentialing requirements applicable to assigned service settings. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with pediatric populations in home-based, clinic, school, or community settings. Familiarity with early intervention, caregiver coaching, and community-based service delivery. Experience with electronic documentation systems and payer-compliant clinical documentation. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequently operates a computer, tablet, phone, and other standard office or clinical technology to complete documentation, scheduling, communication, and care coordination tasks. Regularly moves between client locations and community sites and may traverse stairs, uneven walkways, driveways, parking areas, and other environments not controlled by the company. May need to position self to interact with pediatric clients at floor level, child-sized seating, or other varied treatment environments. Occasionally transports, sets up, and carries therapy materials, toys, assistive items, or equipment typically weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to travel locally on a routine basis and maintain reliable attendance for scheduled client visits, meetings, and required trainings. Work is performed in clinic, homes, daycares, community locations, and other non-company managed environments. Conditions may vary by site and may include shared spaces, variable noise levels, the presence of children, caregivers, pets, stairs, and routine exposure to seasonal weather during travel between appointments.
