Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Pathways Strategic Teaching Center Premier non-profit is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for Pathways Strategic Teaching Center. This is a year-round comprehensive education and treatment program, servicing children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other related disorders. Pathways education and treatment strategies are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Individually tailored curricula address speech and language, pre-academic and academic skills, daily living and self-care skills, play and social skills, vocational skills, and assessment & treatment of challenging behavior.Benefits:

Protect the rights and dignities of individuals with developmental disabilities and extend these rights and dignities to family members or guardians Assist the SLP with speech and language screenings and assessment without clinical interpretation Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP Document student, patient, and client performance (tallying data and preparing charts, records, and graphs) in order to report this information to the supervising SLP Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices Demonstrate or share information with patients, families, and staff regarding feeding strategies developed and directed by the SLP Serve as interpreter for patients/clients/students and families who do not speak English Obtain consultation from other members of the team in areas outside own expertise to fully address the needs of individual children Document all activities in accordance with state/federal regulations and requirements necessary for billing and agency policies Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor related to the organization's mission, goals, and operations.Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in communication and 18 credits towards an advanced degree in this area required Appropriate to the State of Licensing, maintain the proper credentials and license to be a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant Experience in providing therapeutic services to children with autism in school, home, and community-based settings Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred Must have and maintain CPR Must achieve crisis management certification Must have a valid driver's license, safe driving record, auto insurance, and access to vehicle to be used as directed when needed to transport Our mission is to promote an enhanced quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.
