Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting speech therapy services across diverse settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists, children, and students to improve communication skills and enhance quality of life. You will be instrumental in delivering targeted interventions, assisting with assessments, and implementing therapy plans that foster developmental progress and confidence. Responsibilities Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech therapy interventions to children and students in various environments such as schools, clinics, or early intervention programs Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's unique communication needs Conduct activities designed to improve speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions under supervision Monitor and document client progress, maintaining detailed records aligned with therapy goals and medical terminology standards Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive support strategies for pediatric patients Assist in preparing therapy materials and setting up equipment necessary for sessions Participate in ongoing training related to physiology, anatomy, and pediatric speech therapy techniques Qualifications Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred Knowledge of pediatrics, early intervention practices, and school-based environments is advantageous Understanding of physiology, anatomy relevant to speech and swallowing functions, and medical terminology required for effective support roles Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate documentation of therapy activities and progress Certification or training as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory; relevant coursework or experience will be considered Passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering developmental growth through evidence-based practices Embark on a rewarding career journey where your dedication makes a tangible difference!
