Bachelor's degree with a valid Texas license on Texas Education certification in speech/language pathology.
Experience Required:

Knowledge of deafness, sign language, language development, language sampling/analysis, developing articulation skills, and auditory learning/listening skills development.

Acceptable Use Policy and Technology Ethics/Etiquette Function The Speech/Language Pathologist (Regional Day School Program for the Deaf) appraises student speech, language, and hearing disabilities and develops programs to meet the individual student's educational needs.

Special Education Responsibilities:
Tests speech, hearing, and language disabilities. Provides individual and group therapy as required by the individual needs ofthe student. Secures and reviews materials utilized in the speech therapy program. Keeps accurate and properly-filed records and evaluations as required by the District and the Texas Education Agency. Serves as a resource person for the classroom teacher by providing materials, setting weekly targets, and making suggestions for daily speech instruction. Assists teachers of auditorially-handicapped students with annual language sampling and analysis. Communicates using sign language when appropriate. Prepares and updates individual- and group-therapy schedules and makes copies available to the principal, teachers, and the Coordinator for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. Performs other job-related duties assigned by the Coordinator for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, and campus principal.
