School-Based Speech Pathology Assistant

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Speech or Communication Disorders is required. Possession of a current Virginia SLP license (note: an SLPA license is not recognized in Virginia). Previous experience or training in school-based settings is strongly preferred. Flexibility and willingness to travel between multiple school locations within the district. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative team approach. Candidates must provide their residential ZIP code during the application process.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support licensed SLPs in the assessment, planning, and delivery of speech-language services to students. Assist in implementing IEP goals and providing direct support to learners as directed by supervising SLPs. Maintain detailed records of student progress, session activities, and communication logs. Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to facilitate optimal student outcomes. Contribute actively to team meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required. Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions with students and colleagues.
