Responsibilities Perform decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical equipment using approved sterilization methods. Assemble, inspect, package, and label sterile instruments and supplies with attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, monitor stock rotation, and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages. Reprocess scopes and other specialized medical devices following strict manufacturer guidelines and infection control protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance records. Follow strict aseptic techniques during all processing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Collaborate with surgical teams to understand instrument needs and ensure timely availability of sterile supplies for procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, packaging, or related healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of infection prevention management, sterilization techniques, and aseptic procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the operation of sterilization equipment. Expertise in endoscope reprocessing and handling surgical instruments with precision. Ability to manage inventory efficiently while adhering to infection control standards. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance and safety compliance. Certification in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for motivated candidates. This is a PRN position. The number of hours/week depends on surgical volume, and no minimum number of hours can be guaranteed.
