About the Role As a crucial leader in our surgical backbone, you will oversee the technical staff responsible for the meticulous processing of instruments and equipment across Valleywise Health . Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services, you will assist the manager with the department's daily operations. This is a dynamic, high-accountability role where your leadership ensures our surgical teams have exactly what they need to deliver safe, exceptional patient care.

Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and guide technical staff within your assigned areas to ensure seamless workflow and operational excellence.
Operational Excellence:
Partner closely with the department manager to steer daily operations and maintain peak efficiency.

Champion rigorous department standards, ensuring the technical team remains strictly compliant with healthcare regulations and quality benchmarks. 24/7
Readiness:
Serve as a dedicated point of contact for department issues around the clock, providing leadership whenever critical needs arise.
Qualifications:
Education :
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred.
Experience :
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of Central Processing experience. Prefer Central Processing experience in a supervisory capacity.
Specialized Training :
None Certification/Licensure :
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM or Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from CBSPD is required upon hire. Certification Healthcare Leadership (CHL), Certification in Healthcare Material Management Concepts (CHMMC), Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) is preferred.

Must have knowledge of regulatory and infection control policies. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions promptly and accurately. Requires the ability to work effectively without close supervision. Requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to work with professionals, and maintain confidentiality standards.
