Amazing opportunity to join our team at California Medical Surgery Center. We are a growing, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center. We are conveniently located in San Luis Obispo, CA. We have two operating rooms and 5 pre-op /PACU bays. We specialize in the following areas: Ophthalmology Oculoplastic/Plastics We are seeking an experienced surgical technologist for a full-time position. Prior Ophthalmology/Ortho and/or ASC experience preferred.

Sterile Processing Technician
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at our Ambulatory Surgery Center.
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
  • Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and guidelines
  • Inspect instruments and equipment for damage, defects, and wear and tear, and report any issues to management
  • Assemble, package, and label surgical instruments and equipment for use in upcoming procedures
  • Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment
  • Ensure that all equipment and work areas are properly cleaned, disinfected, and organized
  • Monitor and record sterilization equipment parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and exposure time, to ensure proper functioning
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous material handling procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program preferred
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD) preferred
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control principles, and medical terminology
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
