Amazing opportunity to join our team at California Medical Surgery Center. We are a growing, physician-owned ambulatory surgery center. We are conveniently located in San Luis Obispo, CA. We have two operating rooms and 5 pre-op /PACU bays. We specialize in the following areas: Ophthalmology Oculoplastic/Plastics We are seeking an experienced surgical technologist for a full-time position. Sterile Processing Technician- Ambulatory Surgery Center We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at our Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and guidelines
- Inspect instruments and equipment for damage, defects, and wear and tear, and report any issues to management
- Assemble, package, and label surgical instruments and equipment for use in upcoming procedures
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment
- Ensure that all equipment and work areas are properly cleaned, disinfected, and organized
- Monitor and record sterilization equipment parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and exposure time, to ensure proper functioning
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous material handling procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program preferred
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPD) preferred
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control principles, and medical terminology
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
