Job Description:

Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) position in the Main OR at a facility in Santa Monica, CA . This is an 8-week travel contract starting 08/31/2026 , working Day shift, 5x8 hours (9:00 AM-5:30 PM) . The SPT will support approximately 30 surgical cases/day across 12 OR rooms and may float to the affiliated ASC surgery center.

Responsibilities:

Perform sterile processing and instrument reprocessing for Main OR cases. Decontaminate, disinfect, clean, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments. Assemble instrument sets/trays and prepare case carts. Follow preference cards and properly select/perform sterilization wrapping. Perform biological and chemical indicator testing. Operate and monitor washers and sterilizers. Perform steam sterilization, Steris testing, and IUSS when required. Perform flexible endoscope and scope/probe reprocessing. Perform high-level disinfection and manual cleaning. Ensure proper labeling and documentation of equipment and instruments. Maintain accurate sterile processing records using SPM. Process equipment for multiple surgical specialties, including general, cardiac, ENT, endoscopy, neuro, OB/GYN, orthopedic, plastics, robotics, urology, vascular, and ophthalmology.

Requirements:

2 years of Sterile Processing experience required National

HSPA/IAHCSMM

certification required BLS required Travel experience required First-time travelers not accepted Epic/charting experience required LA Fire Card obtained within the last 30 days Acute-care/Main OR experience strongly relevant Experience with decontamination, sterilization, tray assembly, case carts, and endoscope reprocessing AL01
