Responsibilities Perform decontamination of used dental and surgical instruments using appropriate sterilization equipment and techniques Assemble, inspect, and package sterilized instruments with precision to ensure readiness for clinical use Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and timely reordering of necessary items Operate medical equipment sterilization devices such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessors following manufacturer guidelines Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols during all processing activities Document sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality control measures accurately in compliance with healthcare standards Conduct routine quality checks on sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions or deviations from standard procedures Experience Prior experience in sterile processing or medical instrument reprocessing preferred but not required; training provided for motivated candidates Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to dental procedures enhances understanding of instrument handling and reprocessing needs Familiarity with dental terminology, infection control practices, and healthcare safety standards is advantageous Ability to operate sterilization equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining meticulous records Strong understanding of surgical instrument sterilization, endoscope reprocessing, and aseptic techniques necessary for ensuring patient safety Demonstrated commitment to infection prevention management and healthcare infection control best practices This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals eager to contribute to a safe clinical environment.
