Sterile Processing Technician (HOURLY - Mondays & PRN)

About Us:
Coast Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a meticulous and dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team on Mondays and as needed (PRN) . This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, sterile environment by ensuring surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following established protocols. Assemble and inspect instrument trays to ensure proper functionality before distribution. Maintain accurate sterilization records and inventory management. Operate and maintain autoclaves, sterilizers, and other processing equipment. Adhere to infection control and safety standards to minimize risks. Work closely with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of instruments. Identify and report any damaged or malfunctioning instruments for repair or replacement. Follow all surgery center policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices. Aware of
ANSI/AAMI
standards for the safe processing, handling, and use of medical devices —including sterilization, cleaning, packaging, and monitoring. Know the Core AORN Guidelines for
Sterile Processing Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST or CBSPD)
REQUIRED.
Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques. Experience with Ritter M9/M11 autoclave preferred. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
