Job Description:
Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank (SDSEB) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at SDSEB is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We are seeking candidates who have previously worked within a clean room environment, are comfortable with aseptic technique, and have an eye for detail. This position will perform day-to-day operations in an ocular laboratory, including coordinating with ocular staff to ensure smooth processing, evaluation, distribution, and maintenance of ocular tissue.

Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank is based out of Sacramento, California and is a member of the DCI Donor Services family. Employees are located in California, Tennessee, and Nevada. For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities. DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our performance is measured by the way we serve donor families and recipients. Key responsibilities this position will perform include: Assists with aseptic tissue and autologous serum eye drops (ASED) processing procedures in a clean room environment, room preparation, opening sterile supplies, and documenting information into database and appropriate logs. Coordinates of phlebotomy services and distribution of processed tissue gifts. Safely handles biohazardous human tissues and blood specimens and assists with disposal and required documentation. Performs inventory management through restocking, assessing par levels, and purchases supplies as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
