Sterile Processing Technician I Job Summary Performs cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Ensures instruments and supplies are properly processed and available for patient procedures while following infection control and safety standards. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) Previous sterile processing or healthcare experience (Preferred) Knowledge of sterile processing and infection control procedures (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification (Preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required if applicable) Key Responsibilities Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment. Operates sterilization and sterile processing equipment according to established procedures. Inspects instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper condition. Prepares and distributes sterile instruments and supplies for surgical and clinical procedures. Maintains accurate sterilization, processing, and quality control records. Identifies and reports damaged, missing, or malfunctioning instruments and equipment. Maintains proper storage and inventory of sterile supplies.
