Qualifications:
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD, CRCST, or equivalent) Previous experience in sterile processing or central supply is strongly preferred Comprehensive knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and surgical instrument identification Familiarity with industry-standard sterilizing equipment (autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners) Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in a clinical environment Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently Commitment to patient safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
Responsibilities:
Collect, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment for use in operating rooms and procedural areas Inspect sets for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness before sterilization Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, documenting all processes and keeping accurate records Assist with inventory control, including ordering, restocking, and proper storage of sterile supplies Collaborate closely with surgical, nursing, and support staff to meet urgent needs and special requests Abide by all infection prevention and safety standards to minimize contamination risk Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on best practices This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic healthcare environment while further developing your technical skills.
