1 year-BLS-SPD Certification-MMR's-TB or CXR Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (SPD) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of sterile processing procedures, medical instrument reprocessing, and infection prevention protocols. As an integral part of the surgical support team, the SPD will ensure that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly sterilized, maintained, and prepared for use in patient care. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient safety and quality healthcare delivery through meticulous instrument management and sterilization practices. Duties Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with established protocols. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments to ensure availability while minimizing waste. Reprocess endoscopes and specialized surgical tools following manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation. Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection prevention measures during all processing activities. Conduct routine inspections for instrument integrity, functionality, and cleanliness; report any damages or deficiencies promptly. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies for surgical procedures while maintaining compliance with healthcare infection control policies. Stay current with evolving sterilization technologies, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements to uphold safety standards. Requirements Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization techniques. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures relevant to instrument handling and reprocessing. Familiarity with hospital or clinical environments' infection prevention management protocols. Strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate specialized medical equipment used in sterilization processes effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for record-keeping and inventory management. Certification in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training or on-the-job experience is essential.
