Pay Range:
$16.20

Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the activities of the Central Processing Department. Responsibilities include decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of sterile items to the OR and throughout the hospital. Required Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/ GED .
  • Computer Skills.
  • Verbal and written skills necessary to facilitate communication with a variety of personnel.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Time management
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Experienced in CPD .
Physical Demands:
Physical, visual, auditory as well as full body mobility to successfully and safely move equipment and supplies from nursing units to central processing department 100% of the time.

Responsibilities:
1. Is compliant with AAMI guidelines 2. Prevents recognized safety hazards and proactively reports near misses 3. Maintains and supports a Just Culture by reporting errors. 4. Identifies potential opportunities and participates collaboratively to make improvements. 5. Participates in the collection of data to support unit-based quality initiatives, research and evidence-based activities. 6. Assists other team members to accurately complete the work of the central/sterile processing department. 7. Assists all departments with immediate sterilization needs. 8. Replenish department stock supplies; inspects expiration dates and package integrity prior to stocking. 9. Completes assigned checklists and logs to ensure department readiness. 10. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and ensures proper instruments are sent to the operating room. 11. Accurately decontaminates reassembles and sterilizes all instruments and equipment according to hospital policy and procedure. 12. Performs/documents biological testing on all sterilizes in the Processing Department according to hospital policy and procedure. 13. Stack cases for case cart system according to surgeon's preference cards. 14. Other duties as assigned Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
